Problems with ETF's

Nowadays trading the SPX using SSO and SDS is becoming nearly impossible on a daily time frame with so many people trading them , the gap ups and gap downs are brutal to short term swingers , even if u have a killer strategy for playing the index u will often find your self paying more then u should due to the ETF gaping up, and selling for less then u should from the ETF gaping down , the only real way around it , is to scalp them, by playing intra day moves, or to expand and capture moves on a weekly or such, so I will continue to scalp SSO and SDS, but for my short term swings I will stick to playing individual stocks ; )
